Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy is a profession providing a service to individuals allowing them to maintain maximum movement and functional ability throughout their life.
The physiotherapist may draw out a plan of action which involves physical activities, psychological evaluation, emotional and social well being. This will depend on how badly the patient's movement is, but a good physiotherapist will devise goals for the patient to adhere to in order for them to regain as much fitness and movement as possible.
In physical therapy there are quite a few different specialities within the profession. Some of these include geriatrics, neurologic, orthopaedic, cardiopulmary and pediatrics.
To become a physiotherapist, it is likely that you would need a minimum of 4 years in university working towards a degree such as a Masters or Doctorate.
